The Complete Guide To Jennifer Love Hewitt, Web Visionary
August 19, 2007
This page is intended to bring readers quickly up to date on our series of investigative reports about Jennifer Love Hewitt. Unbeknownst to many, the noted actress, model and singer was a pioneer of the early Internet, and had a hand in shaping much of our modern experience on the Web.
Here is what we’ve learned so far:
- Jen sometimes gets very nostalgic for the old days of the internet.
- Jen used to work at 37Signals and was one of the web’s first usability experts.
- She was on the original team at Pyra, and the birth of the Blogger application is inextricably linked with her inability to get along with Meg Hourihan.
- Jen worked at Ludicorp and was an original developer on Game NeverEnding. She quit when they decided to scrap the game in favor of Flickr, and it ruined her friendship with Caterina Fake.
- She was (briefly) romantially linked with one of the creators of Dodgeball, and he still blames her for the start-up’s sale to (and eventual death at the hands of) Google.
- Jen and noted web personality Merlin Mann had similar reactions when Derek Powazek and Heather Champ were kicked out of JPG Mag.
- Jen’s father is Jim Coudal. They didn’t speak for many years as a result of her interest in the Internet. Jen was one of the original developers of Google AdWords, and she (possibly?) invented Photoshop Tennis.
